The Amish people is a society that was established around the 16th century. The Amish people didn’t believe that the church was strict enough, so they started their own religion. The Amish believed that god wanted them to live a simple life whit horse wagons and no technology, the Amish came to America and now they are mostly living in Canada and North America. There is about 75.000 in North America and in the hole world there is about a half million. That is not that much but every 20 year it doubles.
They don’t have a church like a normal religion, instead are they holding worships at home in there basement ore where they can be.
They speak a kind of Dutch called Pennsylvania Dutch. The most of the Amish live of farming, but there are also some Amish there are working at factories and have there own business.
Amish people often have many children and they are helping in the farm. The children are not going in school for so many year so if they don’t want to be Amish but instead want to take a education they have to really want it because they are often not that clever, because the don’t have the right education.
