The Amish live like the people in the 1700 century, which mean no electricity and no cars. The Amish people are very good farmers. Because that’s the way they get food and furniture’s. But some of them are working in the normal society; like factories and stores. Some have made their own shops and sells Amish stuff to the tourists, like the specials clothes.

The Amish people were original from Switzerland, but they travelled to Germany and from Germany to America. They travelled from Switzerland to the America because they heard there was religion freedom.

The women take care of the children, take care of their clothes and make the food.

The home of an Amish family averages seven children. The homes are not far apart from each other.

Many people from the normal American society join the Amish people, because they think it’s a stressed life with all the technology and that kind of stuff. There are more Amish today than there have ever been.

When Amish people die the funeral and burial take place three days after death, and the funeral take place at home and last nearly two hours. They dress the dead in white shrouds bury him or her in an Amish-owned cemetery. They don’t lay flowers on the gravesite, and a simple tombstone is laid on the gravesite. After the funeral friends and relatives of the bereaved will have a fellowship meal, and the friends and relatives bring all the food
