Old Amish women and girls wear modest dresses made from solid-colored fabric with long sleevest. They never cut their hair, which they wear in a bun on the back of the head. Men and boys wear dark-colored suits, straight-cut coats without lapels, broadfall trousers, suspenders, solid-colored shirts, black socks and shoes, and black or straw broad-brimmed hats.
The Amish people are a religious group of Christians originally from Germany who all fled to the United States. They live now in 22 States, but separation from the world. All the Amish live in USA and Canada and today there are ca. 250.000 Amish people in the world.
They live in small communities without electricity or modern conveniences. They have a strong sense of community and they are encouraged to have many children as possible in order to continue their prosperous community. Like the Jehovan´s witnesses.The Amish people have a unique tradition that has succeeded for them. The Amish teenager lives in a strict society, under tight control of their family, when they are young. One of the rules is; When an Amish person turns 16, from the ages of 16-21, they have to make a big chose, to be or not to be in the Amish culture. This question can change the life for an Amish teenager. When they not will be Amish people they cane be normal people like us. Live with electricity, telephone and something else. But they may not see her family.
