They flopped totally, and had to apoligize and practice selfcriticism. Because they disrespected the Asian culture and way of living. The companies has to accept that not every country, behave and live the way that their contry does. They have to adjust and learn about the contry, that they negotiate with. Learn about their way of doing things and get into what is important for them. It would not be good if you get into conflicts with a million dollar deal, because you forgot to wash you hands after eating sushi. Now a days many people has billions of dollars, and do no longer consider money as important as they were only 10 years ago. Now the big hits, consider good behaviour and nice manners as an important part of the negotiation. Business has gotten more personal than it was before. People are getting closer to each other, and do no longer take distance from another. As we read it in an earlier text, it is not only the behaviour and good manners that counts. Also other things have to be considered. In Asia, it is not a good idea to send a woman to seal a deal. The Asian men sees the women as lower in the system. And do not consider them as an important person, or someone that they would like to sign a contract with. Therefore it would be a good idea to send a male, and also a male who already knows something about asian culture. A male because they see them as equal to themselves and therefore they would get along much better. And a "specialist" in asian culture, because he knows how to behave and how to approach the people that they are dealing with. It could be a born asian or just someone that has done business in Asia before. Business people know these things, and that is why things go so smoothly as they do during business all over the world. Asians to Americans and Danes to Brasilians. These pre-studies make them aware of what to do, and gives them an insight in the other business partners culture. This is why it is possible to do business among countries. KNOWLEDGE IS POWER !!
