I will tell you about MLK. He was a very good man and he has done really good things for the black people. I have read many things about him and I think he was very important for the black. I agree with him that all people should be treated equal no matter what color they have.
MLK was born in 1929 in Atlanta, Georgia in the south of USA.
He had a normal family, but his life was difficult because he was black.
He could not go to an ordinary school, and he could not do what the white people could.
In the theater or cinema the black people had to sit upstairs.
Black people also had to buy ice cream in a special window at the back side of the shop.
When he was 19 he had his first speech in his father’s church, talking about the black people’s rights.
From 1948 to 1954 he was an assistant minister in his father’s church, and he was very good when he talked to people. In 1955 he finished his education at the university and he was known for his work for the black people.
In 1959 he started a boycott of the buses because of the unfair treatment of black people. The boycott lasted 383 days, but they won at the end, and this was the beginning of the civil rights movement.
