Eddie and Mickey meet each other and becomes best friends, they discover that their birthday is the on the same day. Mickey says that that means they can be blood brothers. Mickey cuts his hand, and afterwards he cuts Eddie’s hand, and clamps them together.

Eddie and Mickey are twins, they become separated on account of Mrs Lyons, who bribes the real mother Mrs Johnston to hand over one of her twins for money because she can’t have children herself. She claims that the mother cannot support all her many children. When Eddie and Mickey are seven, they become good friends, “blood brothers”. But Eddie goes of to university, and when he comes back, nothing is the same. In the end, the mother tells the twins, that they are brothers, and Mrs Lyons then tries to shoot Mickey, but gets Eddie instead, and ends up killing both of them.

Character Sketch

Mrs Lyons:

She is very upset that se can’t have children, and wishes dearly to have one.

She is wealthy and lives of her husband’s money.

She doesn’t let Mrs Johnston keep both her twins, even though she begs.

She is not a bad person for asking Mrs Johnston to give her child up, she just wants one to care for to.
