Plot summary af 'The Sniper'

This civil war is between The Republicans and IRA. The story takes place in Dublin in Ireland. A young soldier lay on a roof, some place in Dublin. The story is on a Dark June night. The young soldier lays on the roof waiting for some of the IRA men, he shall shot. Beside him he hat a bottle of whiskey and he’s riffle.

One time, he takes a cigarette and smoke it, but that was very dangerous to do it. As soon as he lights the fire to the cigarette, the sniper on the other roof saw it and shot after him. He was nearly hit. He swore and tried to hide himself a bit better.

Down on the street he sees an armoured car with British soldiers. The car stops and an old lady contacts the soldiers. She is an informer. Our sniper first shoot the soldier, and after that he shoots the old lady.

At the same time, the sniper on the other roof shoots, and our sniper is hit in he’s arm.

It hurts, and he cant use his arm. He wonders how he can try to hit the sniper on the other roof.

He uses his coat and hang it over the riffle, and puts his cap on the top of the riffle.
