Class: 9.yWhy did I choose this topic? - You always have this idea about the police. They’re here to make the world a bit safer and they’re of course supposed to be the good guys. But what when they aren’t? I find that very interesting and that’s why I chose this topic.

When did the massacre occurred and why?- March 21 1960, PAC started a campaign. The idea belonged to the ANC AfricanNationalCongress
- Confrontation in the township of Sharpeville, now known as Gauteng providence
- A protest against the pass laws
- Peaceful demonstration of black unarmed protesters
- The police opened fire
Outcome: - 69 people killed - 180 people injured - Many sympathetic demonstrations
- Banning of PAC and ANC
- Turning point in the South African history
