Valentine’s Day is connected with Catholic Saint Valentine and the celebration day is February 14th. Sincerity it is celebrated at this day in USA and England. But in the last few years we also celebrate it in Denmark. And it is especially young girls that have taken the custom to them. This day is a day to celebrate love. Valentine-day gives occasion to mark the love. A valentinscart or a bouquet of flowers is visible evidence and a symbol to show your love.

Year 498 the February 14th was made to valentinsdag by Pope Gelasius. The motives for this dedication may be other things too. Among other things it may have been to Christianize certain spring parties, which in the pagan Rome fell on February 15th. The evening before the party, the names of all unmarried girls were written on a slip and put in a box. The young unmarried men drew the name of that girl. One by one they promised to accompany arrangements to parties and such other things in the next year. The Romans brought the custom to England, from where we know the tradition with posting romantic cards. But there are many explanations for Valentines Day.
