The ideal school systemI have made an article about my ideal school system, a system where equality is the most important word. Article by: Lasse QvistMy dream school system, is first of all a public school system, which means that everybody has the right to go to school, no matter sex, race, size, social status, age or anything else, that is discriminating. The teachers will be paid by the public, by taxes. The tax will be a percentage of one’s salary, so the broad shoulders to bear the burden. There will be compulsory education, for some years, but if you want to educate further, high school will also be public. The public school system needs to be so strong, so that we can educate students in world class. But the students will not be divided into groups, depending on their qualities. In Denmark today, the school system is okay. But it focuses too much on grades, and that can course bullying, and other bad things, in that category. We need to focus more on every student, and give the person the optimum possibilities, of graduating with high grades, but at the same time focus on each person to develop their person. We don’t need a system that tells students what to think and believe, but a system that teaches students in thinking individually, and develop their own ideas of life. Else ways, we risk to build a very monotonous society, where everybody thinks, what they are told to think, and that is very destructive to our society. As Pink Floyd sang in their very famous song, Another brick in the wall, “we don’t need no education!” I believe that is a genial comment and it describes perfect, what would happen, if we don’t let people think free. Of course private schools needs to be aloud, and will be paid some money, per student they educate. But the public schools will have to be so competitive, so that far most people will choose public schools over private schools. And the private schools won’t get paid more money per student, than it would cost the government, to educate the student in a public school. I also believe that the food, the student consume during the day, is very important to their learning abilities. Therefore, every single public school needs to have a canteen, that serves healthy, affordable food to the students, which is the directly opposite of today, where they serve extremely expensive, bad food. And that is a problem, when most students don’t have an alternative, as their not allowed to leave the school. To draw a conclusion, I think the system, as we know it today, is working quite fine, with some missing point. For example do I believe, that the integration of Danes with another ethnic background than Danish, is deficient, some times not-existing.
