The Invisible Man, resumé

The book starts in the little English village called Liping, when a mysterious stranger arrives to stay in the local in. The stranger wears a long coat, gloves, large glasses and his face is hidden by bandages. The stranger is very weird, and he demands to be left alone. He spends most of his time alone in his room with a lot of chemicals and laboratory things.

One morning when the innkeeper passes the strangers room, she discovered that the stranger’s clothes are scattered all over the floor and the stranger is gone. Later on the same day the innkeeper saw that the stranger was invisible. The innkeeper flees and she called the police but the stranger escape. The stranger flees to a little shop in the city of Liping. He attempts to break in through the back door, but he was discovered by the shopkeeper. The invisible man just scared the shopkeeper away. The invisible man stays in the shop for a couple of days. When he left the shop stole he some clothes and some food. He burned the shop down to cover his tracks. On his way he was persecuted by the police. Each time when the police get close to the invisible man, he just scared them away.
