Discussion Discuss in 150-200 words why people immigrate and what it means for a country such as America to have its people coming from so many different cultures and countries. Immigrants moved to America because they wanted better live conditions. It could be personal freedom or relief from political or religious persecution. There are many reasons for why they moved to America with hope for a brighter future. People from Europe and Asia came from eat and west. More than 70 percent of all the immigrants came to New York City, which came to be known as the "Golden Door". Immigrants looked for jobs like railroad making and more. America has been recognized throughout the world as the land of opportunity. And its making the goal of reaching the dream of millions of immigrants searching for a better life. The freedoms and opportunities, makes that whatever you are black or white, you can reach your goals and dreams. So many different cultures in one country can be good or bad. It could be good because if you are from Asian, you can learn about the other cultures and understand why they are living like that. But it can also be bad, because some people can or will not accept other people who are living in a different way.
