Throughout history a large number of people have moved away from their country in hope for a better life. These immigrants usually seek for better jobs, better living conditions, new lands to farm or even worse; escape from persecution for their religious or political beliefs. Large numbers of people have also fled from their homeland because of disasters like: war. These people are not immigrants but: refugees.
The Danes is often more open to refugees then immigrants, because they believe that the immigrants only comes to Denmark to drain our country’s resources and to abuse the welfare system. They think that there is a HUGE difference between them, and if you ask me I don’t think it is completely untrue, but I don’t think that it’s all that common as the Danish people thinks. Of course immigrants try to make the best living possible. Imagine if we had to flee, where would you go? I would defiantly flee to the country with the best system. And one of the reasons I think so many immigrants desperately are trying to enter our country is because of our world known welfare system and the benefits that comes with it. Many Danes thinks for example that ALL Turks and Serbs are immigrants and not refugees because they all look the same. But in fact most of them have fled because of the Kosovo war, hunger or because they are Kurds.
