ON THE OTHER SIDE The short story gives us an insight into how terrible apartheid period has been. It is very difficult to describe something so horrifying that has taken place in reality and many people have been victims for it in many years and actually still suffering from it. The story tells us about the environment and the treatment of blacks they had to put up with. The fear they live with every day, where the only bright spot in their empty life could be a woman who breastfed her child, or the sound of a child's laughter. That
