I think it’s because she is lonely, sad and need company. Maybe because the narrator is a young girl, and Serena desperately wants to be young again, so that might have something to do with it
She is in bad condition, i think she is a old woman trying to be young, so I can only imagine how bad she must feel, when the think (be young again) she really wants is the only thing she can’t. She behaves like she is drunk and maybe even high. Very extrovert and she want some attention, she wants someone to listen to her and not judge her.
