The history of South Africa

There were many different people in South Africa. The first people were the Khoi and the San. Then the people from the Central Africa came 2000 years ago. The first group of the whites came in 1652 from Holland. Later some Germans, a few French and even some Scandinavians joined them. Then the English arrived in 1795. Indians came in 19th century from India. It was just a few of them who arrived to South Africa. Today there lives many other people.

Thousands of years before the Europeans and the black Africans came, the land was split op between two people, the Khoi and the San. The Khoi were cattle herders and the San were hunter-gatherers. They didn’t look like the one we know today. They were short and yellowish skin. The Khoi and the San didn’t live side by side. The San people lived in small groups and the Khoi lived in larger groups.
