Carlos Ray "Chuck Norris" born March 10 1940, is an American actor, and also known for fighting arts. He appeared in many action films, such as way of the Dragon (1972), and in the TV series Walker, Texas Ranger (1993-2001). As a result of his "tough guy" image, an Internet phenomenon began in 2005 known as "Chuck Norris facts", which described the impossible "strengths”, which only Chuck Norris could master.
Before fame: Norris was born in Ryan, Oklahoma, the son of Wilma and Ray Norris. Norris was named after Carlos Berry, his father's minister. He has two younger brothers, Wieland and Aaron. Aaron is a Hollywood producer. When Norris was sixteen, his parents got divorced, and he moved to Kansas, and later to California, with his mother and brothers.
Norris had a very tough childhood, he was very shy and was teased by the other kids, and he tried to pretend that his fathers drinking problem wasn't real. Norris got his nickname "Chuck" when he was in the United States Air Force, and worked as an Air Policeman.
Chun Kuk Do:
In 1958 when Norris was in South Korea with the air force, he began his training in tangsudu. He got so interested in the art that he continued until the black belt. After the black belt he formed his own kind of fighting arts, named Chun Kuk Do. It was a combination of all the arts he knew. When Norris returned to the U.S.A., he opened a chain of karate schools. Chuck Norris won many tournaments in the fighting arts, and in 1969, he won Karate's triple crown for the most tournament wins of the year, and the Fighter of the Year award by Black Belt Magazine.
