Gordie LaChance: Gordie has brown hair and he’s thin. Gordie is a quiet, bookish boy with a penchant for telling stories and writing. Gordie is not the hero type of guy, he’s shyer then his friends are. He is rejected by his father, following the death of his older brother Denny, who was a football-star, in a jeep accident. In the movie you don’t hear Gordie’s nother talk, because she doesn’t care about Gordie, it was Danny she loved the most. Denny paid Gordie much more attention than his parents. Gordie likes his friends, he spends his time with three friends, Chris Chambers, Teddy Duchamp and Vern Tessio. Chris is his best friend. Gordie realy like Chris, and sees him like an older brother.
Chris Chambers: Chris comes from a family of criminals and alcoholics, with an abusive father and a mean brother. But he’s not right as his Family. Tough-yet-sensitive Chris is Gordie's most intimate friend. Chris understands how Gordie feels about the death of Gordie’s brother. Chris is a born psychologist, who explains to Gordie that the problem is not that his father doesn't like him but that he doesn't know him. Chris is also supportive; he keeps assuring Gordie that some day he will be a great writer. Chris is what we can call a leader, of the little gang they have.
