They are telling us in “Watching Your Every Move”, that those CCTV cameras in the UK has developed a lot and is being used everywhere without people really saying anything about them. The cameras are helping the government a lot and they are saving a lot of money because the CCTV cameras has a high quality and they show exactly every move you make, so nobody can lie, the thief’s will get caught faster than normal. Some people are using these cameras at home as well. For example to make sure the nanny is doing her job the parents can have an eye on the nanny while they are doing other important things.
CCTV cameras have impressed a lot of people, so the only way is up.
The chances of getting caught on camera are set to rise, particularly with the use of digital CCTV.
Give an outline of the various attitudes to surveillance expressed in the two texts.
There different opinions in the two texts and they are all important but the main thing is to be on the safe side and use those cameras for protection and to make it safe for people walking alone. Some people will be against the cameras because they feel it’s too much to trust on technology instead of real people. And some will feel uncomfortable when a camera is keeping an eye on them while they are walking on the streets, like who knows? Maybe it’s a creepy pedophile that’s has the control over the cameras. But I think people should think more positive and realize that our future will not get better if we don’t act fast. We should trust the technology and of course the people controlling the cameras, we should trust the business people, that they aren’t hiring anyone to this kind of jobs.
