There are between 20 and 50 millions child workers. All of them work under very bad conditions. They work full time every day and there’s no time to relax, go to school, or play, and there is only a small break for meals. Many of the children are under 14 years old. There are also a lot of children who cannot go home, so they have to sleep at their working place, which is very bad for their health and development. Many of the girls work as maids in rich people’s houses, other work as prostitutes. They also work in tea stalls, restaurants or beg on the streets. It’s often very hard physical and mental work. |
