The song ”These Words” is written by Natasha Bedingfield. She is a singer and songwriter from England. She is born in 1981 and has been a part of the crew “The DNA Algorithm” with her sister Nikola Rachelle and Natasha’s brother, Daniel Bedingfield. She released her first album in 2004 called unwritten, containing pop hits with an influence of some R&B. When she made the song “These Words”, she felt a large pressure and were frustrated, because of the expectations to her.
I find the start of the song a little bit weird. In the first verse she is singing about, how she made the song, and I don’t think there is a deeper meaning of the first verse, it is just like a intro, to get started. And I think it is difficult to interpret, what she mean by the line: “The combination D.E.F” I have searched the internet, and couldn’t find a specific meaning of that line, because people understands it different, and that is a very brilliant thing made by the writer. Because then each individual person, can relate to it in their way, and are understanding the metaphors different.
As we get farther down in the text, we are getting involved into a romantic issue, between Natasha and her loverboy. She sings in the chorus:
