Afroamerikanere i Obama's USA

1.The texts I have read are articles about the African American races’ situation today, written by Americans such as a black lawyer and columnist Yolanda Young, Eric Holder the Attorney General of the United States and the black columnist Walter Backstorm. In all three articles the authors give us their personal point of view about the situation of the African American today.

In the first article from the USA Today, 14th August 2009, written by the black woman Yolanda Young, Mrs Young tell us about how she become visible for the white citizens after the election of Barack Obama, on account of her appearance, because she looks like the presidents wife Micelle Obama. But the comparison with Michelle Obama isn’t the most important thing for Mrs Young, the important thing for her is to keep a positive self-image from herself even if she doesn’t look like celebrities. We also read about the experiment conducted by psychologists and the media on black children, where the children should choose between a black and a white doll, and the children chose the white one, even after the election of Barack Obama. While Eric Holder means that African American are all significant so are their history, and he believe that it’s time for progress where all the Americans can feel comfortable with each other, blacks and whites together. He means that the races have to appreciate each other and build a future where all of their people are valued. But Walter Backstorm believe that the racism still exists and that the black and the white race are divided and the black people don’t have the same equal rights as the whites yet. He means that a black man can’t be in both black and white world.
