Its year 1970, in Suburban (Pennsylvania). Susie Salmon lives there with her parents, brother and sister. She is 14 fourteen year old, and she has a crush on a senior named, Ray Singh. Its 6th December, 1973, Susie Is at school when Ray comes and talks to her for the first time, after a while they almost kiss, but they get disturbed. Ray makes a deal with Susie, to go out on a date. She leaves the school happy and takes a shortcut home across a field, and meets George Harvey. He asks her if she wants to see something he has build. Susie thinks she can trust him, because he is a neighbor who knows her parents. What Susie doesn’t know is that George is a serial killer who rapes and murders Susie. When she dies, she doesn’t go directly to heaven, but between, earth and heaven, her soul isn’t free because the murderer is not found. Susie’s mother is trying to get through the pain and want to forget, while her father is trying to find his daughter’s killer. Susie can see the things that are going on from “the in-between”, but all she can do is look, while her father and the police are trying to solve the case, she also sees her killer, making a new plan for his next victim, his younger sister Lindsey.
