Crossroads near Cape Town is the best known squatter’s camp for the blacks. They come from their homelands to these illegal camps to get a job at white’s companies. The advantage for the white people is that the blacks provide cheap labor. The police close half an eye to it, however, they still make a point of demonstrating that the Blacks have no rights.

Mamphela visits "The Daily Dispatch". She thinks Donald Woods is ignorant and wants him to meet Steve Biko.
Chapter 4:
Donald Woods goes to King William's Town to meet Biko. He meets Ntsiki who appears to be a nice, warm woman. She shows him the Church where there are a lot of activities. Finally he goes to meet Biko. Woods meets Biko outsite the church. The tone is ironic but changes into a more sympathetic tone of voice.
