It’s a 1st person narrator, because he says “I” all the time. It’s this boy, and he’s 11 years old. He has 2 friends, Hass and Morgan who’s both 12 years old. The narrator is some sort of leader in the group. That’s at least how he sees himself. He thinks that he can’t back down from anything because that would make him a weak leader. And I certainly think that he sees himself as a role model for Hass and Morgan even though he’s a year younger than them.
I don’t see him directly as a reliable person. On one hand he’s this bad kid who thinks that he’s being cool by lying about think and keeping his thoughts secret, but on the other hand he helps Simpson because, he discovers his own conscience.
Point of view: I see it an unlimited point of view, because it’s his point of you, and I kind of get to know all of his feeling and his thinking, not the others.
We get to know that he wants his son to be a nice boy with perfect behavior. That he’s very disappointed, and brings the narrators’ mom into the conversation too, maybe to make the narrator feel worse.
