Pete was getting ready to visit Zoe when his phone rang. Two kids had been reported missing in the mountains. Pete…
Pete was well known for his environmental survival experience. And this wasn’t first time he got a call like this when someone was missing. So he had to change his plans for the next days, he hurried up in some good clothes and lots of food and got on his way up to the mountains. The weather was unusually cold this morning, and it could mean life and dead for the kids’ survival. It didn’t take him many minutes to walk him up the through the outer forest of the mountain. But as he came higher and higher the degrees started to fell. The day went pretty fast, and at evening he had to make a camp. He knew that it was also a dangerous area so he made a fire to keep the bears away. That was the worst he could ever think of, if the bears found the kids before him. Next morning at 6 am, he was ready to go, but wait. What is that? The fire camp had burned out. And on the ground not far from him, there were bear prints. This was really bad, he’d better watch out a bit more today. It could be real messy if he ran into a bear. But damn, those kids where nowhere to be found, he yelled out for them every fifth minute but he never got an answer, except of his echo. He came to a big river, with a lot of power and whirlpools in, it did look dangerous. He heard something grunting behind him, and it was a big black bear. It growled at him with a deadly look in its eyes. He was pressed up in a corner with the river as his only escape. But it was there he saw his chance as a big trunk was sewing by. He took the chance and he jumped, using all the powers he had to reach for the trunk. The black bear did not follow him in the water, but it was hard enough to the trunk and not let go of it. He could feel the power of the water trying to suck his body into the water. But he wouldn’t let go, he just kept holding tight to the trunk. The water began to spread out over a bigger area and the water level began to be low, low enough that he could touch the bottom. So he walked into the edge of the river. It was very cold and dark but he finally saw a cave not far from here, and got hope. He yelled out “hello kids”, “are you there”. He saw the two missing kids coming out of the cave so with big smiles on their faces, and though they did look alright.
