1: The book is about a boy named Stanley. Stanley is a fifteen years old and he is overweight. Stanley is sent to a place for juveniles called Camp Green Lake. It was the result af a trial and this was the penalty form the judges. There he will dig holes all day and live the hard life. On Camp Green Lake, Stanley gets some friends, who also are juveniles. Their names are X-ray, Zero, Armpit, Zigzag, Magnet and Squid, but it’s not their real names, just nicknames.
Camp Green Lake is a hard place. They work all day in the very hot sun and get nothing back. Some day Stanley finds something, but he has promised, to give it to X-ray, it is a lipstick with initials KB with a heart around it.
Stanley becomes good friends with Zero and they help he each other. One day Stanley gets into a fight with Zigzag and Zero helps him and all most kills Zigzag. Right after Zero hits Pendanski, the camp counselor with a shovel and runs away - in to the desert with no water. A few days after Stanley decides to follow him. Stanley finds Zero and they find the mountain “Big Thump”. They survives only by eating onion and drink water for 2 weeks. They come back and find the treasure and all ends well for the Yelnats.
