The book is about a boy called Stanley, being accused of a crime. Some people think he has stolen a pair of basket ball shoes. But Stanly try to explain, at the shoes falling from the sky into his het. But the judge doesn’t believe him.

He is sent to a boy’s camp in Texas, called Camp Green Lake. But this camp is not like other camps. The camp is in deserts, there is nothing green and there are numerous holes that are dug by the boys as living on the Camp. This is not a god place to bin the summer. Stanley meetings, a lot of the boys and it ends up being good friends.

One of them a little boy called Zero tics of the camp and into the deserts. Stanley goes out after him. Stanley find him and they most bin in the dessert a few days. Zero Tell Stanley a sad thing, he tells him why he was expelled to the camp is due to him. It was him, who stole the shoes and had thrown them down, but he knew it would not go beyond Stanley. Stanley takes it not so heavy.

Later they came back to the camp, and beginning to digging in the holes. A old story tell about a treasure chest. They find it but, but they are not the only ones who want to get it. Some of the people, who work on the camp, want it to. Stanley find out his name is on it, and in the end he came’s home whit treasure chest and this little friend.
