Holes The book is called “Holes”, and the author is Louis Sachar. It is about Stanley Yelnats who found a very expensive pair of shoes on the street, that he wanted take with him home. He shouldn’t do that because a famous person owned them, and the police officers was, trying to find the thief. When they found Stanley, they thought he stole the shoes, so they arrested him.
