My favorite CD I have chosen the CD ‘’ No balance palace’’, by the artist Kashmir. And I choose the CD because the songs are very different from what they had been making before and the slow rock is definitely the best songs on the album! - I clearly remember me sitting on the couch, watching commercials in the television and then Kashmir popped up, and I just had to get the album. I spend all my savings on that CD, but it was worth it. Kashmir is a Danish band. They get good reviews, and most Danish music lovers count Kashmir as being one of their favorite bands, and almost everyone knows their music. They play alternative rock in the style of Radiohead, but with a distinctive sound, mainly due to Kasper Eistrup’s vocals. They are named after the Led Zeppelin song “Kashmir”, but they don’t really seem to draw any inspiration from them.

The CD came out the 10th of December 2005. The album had Tony Visconti as there producer, who also was producer for David Bowie, T. Rex, and other big singers/bands. Before the album was released a rumor started circling, that David Bowie would be featured on this album. And if that wasn’t enough, it was later made known that Lou Reed also would be reading one of his poems in a song. This was a very big thing because yes Kashmir were and still are huge in Denmark, but then Denmark was a tiny country and Kashmir wasn’t that big internationally bag then. For some reason Bowie knew about Kashmir’s music and the rumor is that Kasper Eistrup sent him an mp3 of the song ‘The Cynic’, asking if he would sing the second verse. And Bowie allegedly replied ‘’Sure, I would have no problem doing that’’.
