Kashmir is a Danish band. The band was formed at Kastanievej Efterskole in Copenhagen, in the spring 1991. They got some inspiration from Led Zeppelin where they got their name Kashmir from. Kashmir got more known at the DM in rock where they got a second place after Dizzy Miss Lizzy. The year after that came their debut album ‘Travelogue’ it was some hard rock and funk and rap a funny mixes, I think. In 1996 the album 'Cruzential' was released. In this album it was a bit different with some more personal texts of (Kasper Eistrup vocal and guitar). The third album was called “The good life” and came in 1999. This album was more their own style it is the best album they have ever made that is one of the album i like to listen to, in this album there is rock and some quiet songs. The next album was called Zitilites and was a continuation of” The Good Life”. The last album is called “No Balance Palace” and is recorded in Copenhagen and mixed in NY (New York).
One of my favorite songs from Kashmir: Lampshade is the story about the perfect father who hides his true self behind his lampshade. The truth is that he is a pedophile prig, Kasper compares the father to a dog, which is fastened to his yard, and therefore he can’t do anything, he is fastened to his terrible secret. Kasper wanted to kill him but instead of that he removed his lampshade. In this way his secret got published. I have analyzed the text and then I wrote this. It is a true story personally written of Kasper Eistrup.
