The genre is rock / pop. The chorus is clearly hard rock, but as the verses start the melody softens out, and becomes pop, or soft rock.

This simple love song is about a man who is in love, with a woman, but his love is not returned. Now she is gone, but he will always remember her, and love her no matter how long time will separate them.

There's a shark deep down under,

Intensity:

The song starts out hard. That works really intense, and in my opinion it fits well to the song. The verses are silent and soft, and there are a lot of interludes and they give the song variation.
