I think that it is important to know, when, where and how the everyday products are made. I am wearing a shirt that I bought in turkey at the bazaar, and I bought for only 3 Euro. At that point I was thinking that it was amazing, and that this price was something unmatchable here in Den-mark. I did not think about how it was produced, it might have been in the hands of a little and underfed child from Uganda, that has to make them in order to get their compulsory dinner.
I have to be honest though, when I go out to buy ingredients with my parents, I do not think that either me, or my parents look after the fair-trade logo. In my opinion you should however do so, I think that it is important to make sure, that the producers of your products gets the money they deserve. I feel bad sitting here, and thinking about where the chocolate from my “chocolate coo-kies” are made. The cookies are from a company called “first price”, and it is a discount chain that is as far away from Fair-trade as you can imagine. They find the cheapest ingredients, so they can make products the ordinary family can afford. Nowadays some people simply doesn’t have the resources available to buy real quality products, they go for what is cheapest and does not care if the product is made in China or in France.
