In English we had read this book called Educating Rita. In this relation we shall make a rapport or book analyze about Educating Rita. In the rapport we will go into a plot summary, characterization of Rita and Frank, analyze of settings, environments, titel, author, time and much more. We also have a putting into perspective and messages. So this is thorough written exercise.

Plot summary

The book is about Rita, who wants to get educated, on Rita’s road on getting educated; a lot of life changing episodes takes place. Rita has a boyfriend called Danny. Danny wants to have kids, and Rita also says that it is what she wishes, but Rita takes pills, so she cant have a baby, cause she really doesn’t know yet if she wants a child, and also she first of all wants to get educated. That makes her boyfriend very unhappy with Rita, and Rita is in a big dilemma, an evening she as to chose between her teacher and boyfriend. Rita chooses her boyfriend, but in the end she ends up getting bored, and her thoughts is on if or if not he likes the family. Rita’s teacher Frank, is an alcoholic man, who not seems to like his work, and also it seems like he doesn’t like his students, he just doing it for a living. Frank thinks Rita is special, she is more interesting than the other students, it kind of seems like he likes her, or thinks she is interesting and special. It also seems Frank finding it a exciting process, to get Rita educated. For Rita it seems more like this is the life of hers, she has to choose what her future should be, whether it should be with Danny, as an author or something extremely different. Rita takes to France, to get more wisdom, and here Frank thinks she is changing to a finer women, which he doesn’t like, Frank likes the old Rita. Rita is also not a hairdresser any more; she has got a new job. In the end Rita moves to Australia to get changes and other chances for her life.
