Chameleon is about Rita and her family. They are Indian and lives in London. She has an Irish white boyfriend, and they live together. She can not say anything about their relationship, because both of their family will not take it well. In the story Rita lives with conflict between her family’s desire, that they want her to get married and her secret that she has a boyfriend.
