Dead Poets Society is based on a novel written by N. H. Kleinbaum.

The movie is about poetry. It’s about finding yourself in whatever you’re doing. It’s about doing what you want, and make decisions. Failure is an option, and failure it has to be at some point.

Todd Anderson, Neil Perry, Charles Dalton, Know Overstreet, these boys lives are about to change, when they enter their year at the Welton Academy.Mr. Nowlan, the headmaster of the school, is a man, who has values, that himself, the school, the teachers and his pupils has to participate in. Tradition, excellence, discipline and honour. Mr. Nowlan wants his students to make these four words as a living in their future life. The Welton is an acknowledged school, where some of the country’s most and well educated men has studied. Boys are only accepted.

Mr. Keating who is played by Robin Williams, is one of the teachers at the school. He has studied there himself in his youth years, and we are thinking that he has the same mind and opinions as Mr. Nowland, but we’ll soon see, that we are very wrong. Mr. Keating is teaching English, and want his boys to be independent and make them think on their own. He has his favourite writers, and his way of teaching, and no book any school can give him, can change that.
