It is a new year and Welton Academy is open for the new and old students. Head master Nolan talks about the four pillars of the school, Tradition, Honor, Discipline and Excellence. 75% of the school last year went to the Ivy League. When Mr. Nolan is done with his speech, he says hi to the parents and students at the entrance of the school, here he talks with Mr. Perry and his son Neil; it is also here where he meets the new boy Todd Anderson.
Chapter 2:
Dr. Hager gets Mr. Dalton, Mr. Oversteet, Mr. Perry, Mr. Cameron and Mr. Anderson. Mr. Nolan wishes to talk to the boys about activities because Todd Anderson needs to get some.
Mr. Dalton is a part of the school paper, the service club, soccer and rowing. Mr. Overstreet is a part of Welton society candidates, the school paper, soccer, sons of Alumni club. Mr. Perry is a part of Welton society candidates, chemistry club, mathematics club, school annual and soccer. Mr. Cameron is a part of Welton society candidates, debate club, rowing, service club, forensics and honor council.
Neil and todd are going to be roommates. It is here he meets some of Neils friends, Knox Overstreet, Charlie Dalton and Steven Meeks.
