Brenda Ann Spencer, a normal sixteen-years-old girl. A normal Monday morning, Brenda Ann Spencer decided she’d shoot children in a schoolyard. Eight children and a police officer were wounded, and principal Burton Wragg and head custodian Mike Suchar were killed. This was the first school shooting in U.S.A. If you’d asked me, how I thought the first schools shooting were, I would probably have said -I thought it was an older man, or young teenage boy, who had some freak ideas about bulling or whatever people make as an excuse for school shooting. I don’t know, I think I just had this ideal of a school shooter, I never thought a girl/woman could do something like that. That’s also what makes this story so shoking. Brenda wasn’t the first one to make a school shooting, but none of the other school shootings were the same caliber as Brenda’s. She showed people that this is a real thing.
We saw a video about school shooting in school. It showed us several news and TV shows. The news and shows presented the news as frightening. They told the American population to be afraid of everything. I remember the video telling us to be afraid of escalators, “It can kill you!” This video told us that the news and TV shows are the reason the American population is so afraid. The reason they all have guns, and the reason a gun in the home is 43 times more likely to be used to kill a family member or friend or to commit suicide, than for self-defense.
