The text is about a boot camp. The boot camp is a place, where you send troubled teenagers to (but you can also send not troubled teenagers), so they can experience what prison will be like. For 24 hours, the teenagers are dressed and treated like prisoners, so they can feel how it is like in prison. USA believes that if they know what prison is like, they would stay out of trouble. In that way, they will start to take the right choices in life, and not choose the criminal road.
When they arrive, the teenagers gets their jail uniforms and identity cards. Every teenager sleeps in a tent, and inside the tent, there are no privacy at all. There are certain rules that they must follow: No TV, they have to make their beds in the morning and other rules. They eat breakfast at 05:30 am, and the food is not appetizing. However, teenagers have to eat it.
The day begins with ex-offenders teaching them how they got into crime and describes jail. After that, the teenagers have to work. The work is hard, boring and is the biggest part of the boot camp. During work, talking and laughing aren’t allowed, and there will be guards to watch the teenagers during the work hours.
