When I hear the word crime, I think about criminal people that have broken the law at some point or another. Perhaps they have stolen a car or robbed a bank. I also think of teenagers who could have done something wrong. It could be that they have played with illegal fireworks, gotten into fights at clubs or even sold drugs.

One of the reasons that some youngsters join a gang could be because they do not have a family, or anyone that cares about them. By joining a gang, they are given that feeling of family and belonging. On some level it is also true because in gangs everybody stick together and help each other if someone gets in trouble. Another reason could be that the person who joins the gang wants to look cool in the eyes of his peers. According to me it is a very stupid thing to join a gang and I would never do it myself. If you do not have a family, and you are under 18 years old, then you should try seeking help instead. Social workers can become a great help, and they might just become the reason that a life is saved, when a person does not join a gang.
