The movie Australia takes place in the late 1930’s to the mid 40’s. The movie is about lady Ashley travelling to Australia to her husband’s farm, “The faraway Downs”. When she arrives at Australia, she meets Mr. Drover who takes her to The faraway downs and lady Ashley finds out her husband has been killed. Lady Ashley finds out that one of her employees (Mr. Fletcher) is stealing the cattle’s and droving them onto a rivalling farms land. Lady Ashley meets the half caste child Nullah. Lady Ashley decides to drove her remaining cattle to Darwin by the north coast to sell the cattle for the army. The droving becomes the task of their lives, but they manage to bring most of the cattle save to Darwin. Mr. Drover and Lady Ashley develop strong feelings for each other. As a couple they take care of the half caste child Nullah who’s on the run from the Australian government who place the half caste children in boys’ homes.
The movie starts off with lady Ashley traveling down to Australia by plane to meet her husband at their farm. she arrives in the city of Darwin and her husband’s drover called Mr. drover takes Lady Ashley to their farm called The Faraway Downs. When they arrive at the farm they found out that Lady Ashley’s husband has been murdered. King George (nullah’s grandfather) was held accounted for the murder
