‘Report: Up to Half of World Food Production is Wasted’.
Each year the world produce more than 4 billion tons of food and up to half of the food goes to waste according to a new report from Voice of American. Colin Brown from the Institution of Mechanical Engineers in Britain says that cutting waste is vital if the world is to meet food, demand as the global population soars. However, he also mentioned that it is important to keep the food dry and cool. The food should be transport very safely to the supermarket. Then you buy food use the food quickly as it is possible. Because the supermarkets are very strict when it comes to the expiration date, but actually, you can use the food longer than the expiration date. We throw too much food away just because of the expiration date or how it looks like, not because of how it taste or smell, but just because it not cosmetically attractive. There is enough food in the world to save every child but still around 2 million children die because of hunger every year. Brendan Cox from Save the Children explains, that some families have to choose between feeding themselves or feeding their children and nobody should have to make any choice like that.
