A Day of Exploration

I was really looking forward to something very different and new. I had the maps and my own personal ‘survival’ kit – lots of chocolate and a drink and, of course, my phone to record my new discoveries. I was really hoping to see some animals. Maybe a deer, some birds or even some mountain goats. Before I came here some of my friends also told me that Alaska was very beautiful. My expectations were high, because I have seen some beautiful pictures at home and I really wanted to see the things I saw on the pictures. . The first thing a saw was this huge tree and it looked like someone build a treehouse in the top. I walk over there to see if it actually was a treehouse. It was a big one actually. I walked over to the ladder leading up to the tree house, but it was broken so you couldn't get up. Maybe someone build it teen years ago and no one uses it anymore, because it broke. I did not think more on that and I continued walking. After about 30 minutes of walking further into the woods i was tired so I sat down to eat some chocolate and have a drink. When I had eaten, I packed my things and went further up the mountain. When I was about halfway up the mountain, I saw something moving. I went closer and looked up the mountain and there it was. A big mountain goat. My dad had always said that they were very dangerous if they became aggressive. Therefore, I just hurried to take a picture of it. When I had taken the picture, I hurried away and further up the mountain. One of my main goals of the day was also to go to the top of the mountain. But it was pretty hard, the mountain was pretty high. That I was alone didn't make it any easier either. There was only me and my muscles to get all the way to the top. After a hard fight, I reached the top. It wasn't easy but I did it and it was all worth it. "This view is amazing", I thought. After enjoying the sunset view, I set up my tent where I would spend the night. When I had seen the beautiful view, I laid down in my sleeping bag and slept.
