The movie is about a guy, called Jamal Malik, and his life. He was a boy who had experienced a lot of things through his life. He was a very kind person and also very smart. He was in love with a girl called Latika, and has been that since first sight. His bigger brother, Salim Malik, was a little jealous of Jamal. Maybe because of the bound Jamal and Latika had or maybe because Jamal always got lucky. Jamal and Salim ran away from their hometown, where some people killed their mother. They met Latika and took her with them on their escape from the reality. At first Salim didn’t want Latika to join them, but Jamal sneaked her in. A guy from a strange orphanage picked them up, while they were sleeping in the landfill. At the orphanage they had to go beg or sing for money every single day. Salim was chosen for leader, because he had the will and the power to control the other children. Salim was always the hardcore one. But when the bad guys wanted to make Jamal blind, because he couldn’t sing, Salim backed out and they escaped. They took the train, but Latika couldn’t run as fast as the train and got caught, or at least that is what it seemed to be, but Salim lost the grip on her hand on purpose. Jamal were very affected of this experiences.
