As you already know, I moved to the USA two weeks ago with my family. This week I began at my new school, “Bold High School”. This whole week has just been a blast. I have met so many nice people at the school, and they are all just so obliging. I am very exhausted from all the new impressions. It is not just the language that is different, also the smells, the buildings, the people and the whole environment is totally different from what I am used to.

The school day starts at 8.30, which means I can sleep a little longer, than I could in Denmark. Also they have a huge canteen, where all 500 students eat lunch together, but the food is not something to brag about. A meal containing French fries, chicken nuggets and a fat milk only costs around 4$, so I am not complaining. All the unhealthy food results in larger people, and that is really something you notice in school. People know so little about what they eat - and understandably - the healthy food is almost double up in price. Anyways, the people are really nice talking to, and they are all impressed at how good I am at English, compared to other foreign students. The students at the school are really getting along and the atmosphere is just so positive and joyful. I experienced some very helpful students just yesterday. I could not find my way to the Chemistry Lab, where I was supposed to have lessons in 2 min. So I bumped into two friendly students from a class above mine. They helped me find the right room, and on the way down the hall to the Lab, we started talking and they invited me to this BBQ-party next weekend. I am surprised at how obliging Americans are, and it is definitely something Danes should be better at.One of the things I love most about the school, are all the new subjects. For example we have “Design Technology Workshop”, which is really interesting. You actually learn how to design a web shop or how to programme a game. I think we need more lessons like those in Denmark.
