A British economist has written a book where he agrees with a traditionalist theory. He claims that happiness, not the GNP and even less the competitive capacity should be the overwhelming economic politics principle. He is building his theory on the fact that; in sprite of that the western countries have it trice as good as for 50 years ago, they are not more satisfied. One of the reasons is that wealth is judge relative and not absolute. (If a colleague wage increase is bigger then yours, that reduces the happiness).

A fair paid job, which provide dignity, independents, and are challenging, carry the wage in it self and a creating more efficient and happier collaborators.

Queenie is a novel about a butcher’s family, who are going to a British Empire Exhibition. The family members are a father and a mother and their daughter Queenie Buxton, but they also have to employees with them to watch after Queenie. The exhibition are describe by the King as a little world, where you can see nearly everything in the real world but just as a miniature presentations. One of the “babysitters” Graham also called Jim, because Graham was to fancy name, is trying to get Queenie to kiss a black man. When Queenie are being pushed over to the black man, who instead of kissing her, speaks in clear English and that removes the smile from Graham face.
