There once was an old Irish sailor, by the name Haddock McCord. Haddock was a lonely man living together with his faithful dog Kirk, tough Kirk still was a puppy it spend most of it days sleeping on the couch Haddock had bought for it. Haddock lived in Northern Ireland, in a small house. Haddock didn’t care that he had a small house, because he spend most of his time on his boat. Sometimes he even slept there. He slept at the boat to escape the Irish taxes, Haddock personally meant they were too high and he refused to pay them. Then Haddock one day got a letter saying he had to leave his house and go to a retirement home. But then haddock got an idea. He started to carry all his furniture down to his boat, and made the boat his new house. Haddock had chosen to break his everyday cycle, and to see the world. Haddock found a dog leash and hooked up kirk, he then walked to the city. Haddock went to the local market and picked the last supplies he would need for the trip. He could unfortunately not pay anyone of the marketers. But Haddock was a smart old man, he stood up on a crate and said: ‘’my dear fellow townspeople, I’m travelling away and can’t bring the chest with gold hidden in my house with me. So that is why I will leave it as payment for my last supplies, if you can find it. You see I’m getting older and older, and it seems I have forgotten where I hid the chest. But I’m sure it’s hidden in the house itself.’’ With those as the last words, Haddock slowly walked away and headed towards the boat. While the townspeople started running towards his house to find the chest with gold. They bashed in the locked wooden door and started looking around, but the house was empty. The townspeople started getting gold fever, and in the pure search for gold they tore apart the house. They ripped up the floor, and crooked the wall with crowbars in order to get the gold. But they didn’t find any, they felt cheated. So they took all the planks the house was built of as payment instead, so there was no trace of the house left. So when the government came, they became very confused. There were no house, and no Haddock. The government agreed together with the townspeople that Haddock didn’t exist and haven’t done it at all. Because no man alone, could cheat the government, and a whole town of people. But Haddocks luck didn’t last. His new houseboat hit a storm, and was shaken wildly around. Haddock himself was knocked out, when a picture hit him. But Haddock woke up on what looked like a tropical beach near equator. A white man was bended over him inspecting him.
