One Friday morning by Langston Hughes is a short story of a colored girl living in America in her senior year of high school. The story follows our main protagonist Nancy Lee. The story is about how different it is to be a white American and a colored American. The story can be something Langston Hughes has been witness to in his own life because he himself is an African- American.

In this story, our protagonist is Nancy Lee Johansen. There all so some secondary characters like Miss O´Shay and Miss Dietrich. All the characters are importing to the story and the end to see how Nancy Lee changes her vision of the American dream.

Nancy Lee is the one we follow in this the story and the one who changes her vision of being an American and the American dream. Nancy is the one how gets pushed in this the story and it´s her who must live with the actions others have made.
Nancy is presented to us as a senior year student at George Washington High. Nancy and her family are African-American, her family has lived In America for a long time.
