Fantasy is a boys’ thing; girls don’t like it. But is that right now?
I think people generalize that. Girls also have the right to be interested in fantasy as boys. Many people think that girls only like girly things, and boys only like fantasy. There are many girls, who are interested in e.g. Harry potter. I mean fantasy is not only for boys, but also girls. In the article “Feeding on fantasy “By Lev Grossmann can you see that all mentioned people are guys. A good example is Thomas Kinkade. He is a male artist. In the article we can read that films like the hobbit, and the lord of rings are mentioned. The two films are fantasy films. In the film, there are hobbits, and warriors who make it automatically generalize as boys. Girls may also find fantasy exciting that no one can know. It might mean that boys, are more into fantasy than girls. It’s like we read in old literature books, where the ladies are at home, and the men are the ones who work and fight.
It should not be up for discussion that fantasy is just boys’ stuff for no it is not. Girls can also watch fantasy movies and play fantasy games. We do not live in the old days but 2021 where everything has changed. Some girls are interested in makeup, beauty etc. while other girls love watching movies like Lord of the Rings and war movies. We are all different and there is no such thing as a boy thing.
