She was a part of a conservative party, who was one of the richest parties, but Margaret Thatcher didn’t come from a rich family.
She was a woman with a different background than the others in the party. That meant she needed to show that she was just as good as the other men in the party. But it also meant that she needed to work harder to get to the “top”.
She was called the “Iron Lady” because she was the way she was. She was hard, and her opinion didn’t change just because that people disagreed. She was tried killed at her hotel because people didn’t like her and her politics. The days after she just got back to work like nothing ever happened. Which is one of the reasons that we believe she was called the “Iron Lady”. The hotel where the bombing happened was called the Brighton Hotel. IRA which stand for Iris Republican Army said that they were the one behind the attack and that they would try and kill her again.
She died 5 years ago and after her dead people started singing songs referring to her and said, “The witch is dead”. And even after her career as a prime minster for eleven years people still hated her and said ugly things about her. She ended her career in the 90’s
